We have 96 intervals of 15 minutes every day, meaning you have many opportunities to make a difference. Each day this month, I’m giving you a 15-minute project idea. Pick your favorites to improve your day, yourself or your world. I promise you have time for this.
You can make your life abundantly more rewarding and less stressful if you increase the amount of things you let go of. Yes, you’ll need to begin to see what you can eliminate from your life. Use these simple strategies to make an important impact.
Let go of constant annoyance; unsubscribe from unwanted emails and mail lists. Yes, that delete button or your recycle bin is the easiest route for now. But if you choose to delete, you’ll be deleting the same type of emails for the rest of your life. Take the one extra second on your email and unsubscribe from information you no longer want (it’s usually the tiny, tiny little link at the bottom of the email). For mail, it takes a bit more work–but less than 15 minutes! You’ll be glad you did this when you begin to receive less of what you don’t want allowing you to make time for what you do want.
Quick Tip! Make it your goal to unsubscribe from 1-2 mailing lists or 3-5 emails per day (if you have that many you don’t want) to ease up the task.
Let go of clutter in your life; set up a donations box in your house. Tired of looking at things you don’t love or need anymore? Donate those items to someone else who could use them. Keep a regular box (or bin, tub or container) in a permanent location so when you’re done with something, you can take it to this box and forget it. Then when you’ve filled the box, make a trip to the local donation shelter. Many of them offer coupons or discounts, in addition to tax-write-offs, for your gently used items. Or, you can drop it off at one of the handy bins that seem to be everywhere these days.

Let go of mindless time-wasters; increase your non-screen time. The more time you spend away from the TV, Computer, Smart Phone or Tablet; the better you’ll feel. I promise. It’s hard at first, but the supreme addiction will wear off with time. Eventually you’ll find it refreshing to relax without a screen in front of you. I’d recommend turning off your screens for more than 15 minutes–but it only takes a minute to actually make the switch go off.
